Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the most talked about smartphone of the moment – together with its younger brothers Samsung Galaxy S22 (here is our test after 24 hours) and Samsung Galaxy S22 +, but probably even more than them, also thanks to the spiritual legacy of the Note series and the apical positioning – and has now been subjected to a drop test the results are anything but flattering.
The YouTube channel once again put a strain on Samsung’s latest flagship PBKreviewswhich had already given the Galaxy S22 Ultra an endurance test not suitable for the faint of heart.
As for the drop resistance test, a premise must be made: from a smartphone with a glass back and a front panel with curved edges it would have been unrealistic to expect such a different behavior (to say, already Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 + could do better with flat displays); in any case, there was a justified curiosity around Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus Plus protective glass that covers both the front and back of the device.
That said, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes out with broken bones from this drop test on concrete, not even carried out from exaggerated heights: the first drop on the back is enough to damage the precious rear cameras, while one on the long side is enough to crack more. points the front glass; the display holds its own for a long time, even in the face of heavily damaged glass, but in the end, it raises the white flag.
