Twist of the scene: according to sources close to VGC, 2K would have obtained the license LEGO, with a series of games already in the design phase and now close to reveal. The developers at work would be two decidedly known realities, namely SUMO Digital and Visual Concepts, with a much more articulated partnership than expected.
According to British colleagues, 2K would have at least two sports projects in store: the first is a soccer game, in development at Sumo Digital, to be launched this year near the new edition of the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in December in Qatar. 2023, on the other hand, will be the turn of a racing game, in development at Visual Concepts, of an open world nature and which should be the same that has hit the headlines in recent weeks. There would also be a third project currently under development, based on a definitely famous sports franchise but the exact nature of which the sources do not yet know.
Beyond sports games, 2K should (at least according to what VGC reported) having acquired the license on a permanent basis LEGO. This means that it is very likely that future brick games will no longer be developed by TT Games. The producers and brand holders would have matured this decision after analyzing the sales figures of the latest games, lower than the pass, as well as the uncertain future of Warner Bros in the video game industry.
As usual in these cases, we invite you to take this news with a grain of salt. Definitely a possible change of publisher for LEGO it could lead to a sort of rejuvenation of the games, but clearly it will be necessary to wait for any official announcements on the matter that could arrive already in the course of today.
