In January, Pete Lau’s Chinese OEM launched its current flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 10 Pro, which brought the new SoC with it. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Now, reports have surfaced that the brand is working on a new device that could be the vanilla model.
OnePlus 10: everything we know
According to a report by 91mobilesthe well-known informant Yogesh Brar revealed that OnePlus is working on a new smartphone with the code name “Oscar“.
Brar also stated that the device will be part of the brand’s numbered series of smartphones (such as OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, 10 Pro, etc.). At the moment there is no information available on the specifications or the name of the device, however, the insider says that the OnePlus terminal will debut in the second quarter of 2022. This means that we can expect a debut between April and June.
Given that the brand just unveiled the OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone last month, it is safe to assume that this is not the OnePlus 11. However, the company has yet to release the standard model, which leads us to believe that “Oscar” is actually the codename for the aforementioned entry level flagship killer. We can expect it to be equipped with the SoC as well Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as the company has always released its flagships with the same chipsets. In addition to this, we can look at the OnePlus 10 Pro data sheet to get an idea of what to expect from the vanilla variant.
