On the triumphal day of the new OPPO Find X5 and OPPO Find X5 Pro, the Chinese manufacturer also found time for another important announcement: OPPO Pad And official and represents the debut model of the brand in the world of Android tablets.
This new device is not a surprise, given that it had been widely (and precisely) anticipated in the days ago. After Realme, therefore, another brand of the BBK Electronics group – and the most important of all – enters this new market segment. In truth, more than with Realme Pad (of which you can find our review at this link), OPPO Pad seems destined to do battle with compatriot Xiaomi Pad 5 (here is our review).
OPPO Pad: design
As can be deduced from the cover image, with its first tablet OPPO did not try to reinvent the wheel: OPPO Pad presents a design rather standard, but still modern and with some peculiarities.
The positioning of the rear camera in the upper left corner, under which the LED flash is placed, is the classic one, but it is on the back that we find a touch of originality: a portion of the metal back-cover has engravings of the OPPO name in large letters, which probably will not meet the tastes of lovers of more sober looks.
Modernity is also reflected in the work done by OPPO to thin the symmetrical bezels around the display: the screen-to-body ratio is 86.3%. The edges of the tablet are flat. OPPO Pad is also very thin (7 mm) and light (510 grams).
The proposed colors are two and are those visible at the opening: Black and Purple. For the second, a particular sandblasting technique was used to create a pleasant texture to the touch and reduce unsightly fingerprints.
OPPO Pad: display, data sheet and accessories
OPPO Pad has a large display 11-inch LCD with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels and 275 ppi, 120 Hz refresh rate, 1500: 1 contrast, HDR10 and P3 wide color gamut. There is also a classic hardware solution of blue light filter to less strain the eyes of users.
OPPO’s first tablet will guarantee respectable performance thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC coupled with memory cuts up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal memory. The front camera is 8 megapixel, while the rear is 13 megapixel. OPPO Pad can also count on a 8360 mAh with fast charging support a 33 watts.
Said of the SoC, OPPO has studied a dissipation system to keep temperatures at bay: it occupies an area of 27413mm² and is multilayer in graphite and silicone.
Not even the audio compartment has been overlooked: OPPO Pad is equipped with a quad speaker setup with second generation ACC speakers, each of which is 1.8-1.9cm3. There is no shortage of Dolby Atmos support and Hi-Res audio certification.
As for the softwareOPPO Pad is an Android tablet with ColorOS customization and supports dedicated functions such as four-finger pinch, two-finger gesture for split-screen, parallel windows and multi-device cross-screen collaboration.
OPPO also looks with interest to a productive and creative use: together with OPPO Pad the OPPO Pencil stylus with 4096 levels of pressure, magnetic attachment to the tablet and wireless charging (a full charge guarantees 13 hours of use). The tablet is also combined with a smart magnetic keyboard with Fn keys and task to perform shortcuts (the keyboard has no trackpad).
