Apple it appears to be working on a particular device; Sources say the company is making a foldable 20-inch hybrid MacBook / iPad with a touchscreen keyboard. To say it is Mark Gurman.
We recently reported that Apple postponed the launch of the foldable iPhone to 2025 and shifted its focus to a foldable MacBook. Now, new information has just surfaced on what appears to be a foldable MacBook / iPad hybrid.
What do we know about the foldable MacBook?
The news was shared by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in its Power On newsletter. For the uninitiated, the Cupertino giant would be working on a 20-inch foldable terminal. Furthermore, the new report suggests that the brand is also exploring a dual screen format for the hybrid in question. In other words, this is a new dimension for the company and could create a new category in its product portfolio. Even if a real product meant for sale is probably a long way off.
Gurman added that “The company could use a foldable 20-inch screen attached to a physical keyboard or just have one side of the display that acts as a virtual keyboard. I was told that Apple actually explored a foldable dual-screen MacBook / iPad hybrid that would take the second approach. Swap the physical keyboard and trackpad for a full touch base“.
As of now, the iPhone maker could release this new gadget around 2026, which is the deadline for the launch of its first foldable smartphone. Other noteworthy projects arriving around the same time include an AR headset, a mixed reality headset, and even the highly anticipated Apple Car.
