Elden Ring, the new game from the creators of Dark Souls and Bloodborne, is available since yesterday and has already conquered everyone. The press awarded the open world production with incredibly high-sounding judgments and the community of fans has been involved in the collective hysteria: very difficult to find someone who is not playing with it.
In the meantime, however, we must also address some bugs: in addition to performance problems, it seems that on PS5 there is a risk that saves will be deleted, something that would happen if the console was turned off during the game, for one reason or another. Bandai Namco makes it known that a patch is in the works and in the meantime explains how to avoid the problem.
Elden Ring, how to avoid the PS5 save bug
As we said, the bug seems to occur only if the user turns off his or her for some reason PlayStation 5 during the game or, according to Bandai Namco, if you use the suspend function of the console. So let’s say that unfortunate cases can also happen in which the power goes out and the risk of finding the save file corrupt.
To avoid the bug or at least to reduce the risk, the publisher suggests “Force” manual saving. How do you do? Just use the game menu and literally quit the game. Once you are on the home screen, you can close Elden Ring from the Home menu.
Put simply, for the moment it is better to avoid turning off the PS5 with the game open even if you are convinced that the autosave function has intervened. It shouldn’t be long before the official patch arrives, so please be patient in this regard and wait for further communications.
Elden Ring is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
