HMD Global has been selling Nokia-branded Android smartphones for several years now, although in recent history it has started to losing ground regarding the software side support. That doesn’t stop the company from continuing to manufacture phones and now, over the course of Mobile World Congress 2022three other budget smartphones were presented: Nokia C21 Plus, C21 And C 2nd Edition.
According to the specifications of HMD Global, the Nokia C series represents about 16% of the total sales made in the last five years, despite having this range in circulation for just two years. There is a fair level of demand in this regard and, for this reason, the manufacturer has decided to insist on low budgets.
Official Nokia C21 Plus, Nokia C21 and Nokia C 2nd Edition: prices unknown for now
The first unit, namely Nokia C21 Plus, is definitely the best of the three. As mentioned, it is a low-end device with Unisoc SC9863A chipset, two rear cameras (including a depth sensor), resistance to water and dust splashes according to the IP52 standard, a 6.5-inch HD + screen and a microUSB connector instead of USB Type-C.
The rest of the hardware will vary by country and model, with 2-4GB of RAM, 32-64GB of internal storage and a battery capacity of 4,000-5,050mAh. On the plus side is the implementation of the headphone jack and FM radio, which at this point is difficult to track even on most top-of-the-line phones.
Turning now to the smartphone Nokia C21, the battery capacity drops to 3,000 mAh with the possibility of charging at a speed of just 5 W: make yourself comfortable, waiting for the cycle to be completely completed. On the back of the phone we have two cameras (although the press release only mentions one, probably by mistake).
Let’s end now with the Nokia C 2nd Edition, having on board a smaller 5.7-inch display and a resolution of just 480p, 1-2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory and a 2,400 mAh battery with “charging speed” equal to 5W. Only one camera on the back. HMD does not specify the processor on board but it is assumed that Nokia C 2nd Edition is powered by a four-core Unisoc chip.
