The Google Play Store is the fastest and safest way to download applications (and more) for Android devices of all kinds, but in some cases it may be necessary to request a refund. A careless purchase, an application that in the end turned out to be different from what you thought: there are many reasons that could lead you to request a refund, and in this guide we show you how easy it is to do it.
Let’s start by saying that there are two ways to request a refund on the Play Store: through the Google Play web portal and by requesting assistance from the developer.
How to request a refund from the Play Store
Starting with order, to apply through the Google Play web portal it is necessary:
- Access this website address from the computer;
- Click on the item “Order history”;
- Search for the order relating to the last payment made;
- Select the item “Request refund” or “Report a problem”> Choose the option that best describes your refund request;
- Fill out the form in all its parts;
- Wait for confirmation from the site and check the e-mail address associated with your Google account.
Request a refund by contacting the developer if the app does not offer the functions indicated on the Play Store page:
- Open the Play Store on your Android device;
- Search for the purchased application;
- Tap the “Developer contact” item on the application page;
- Check out all the ways to get in touch with the developer.
This mode is the most used if more than 48 hours have passed since the purchase of the application.
Refund times
The working days taken to receive the refund vary according to the payment method used, but in general they never exceed 30 days. Here are the waiting times for refunds related to the most common payment systems:
- PayPal: from 3 to 5 working days;
- Google Pay: 1 business day;
- Google Play balance (gift card or balance): 1 business day;
- Credit or debit card: 3 to 5 working days, up to a maximum of 10 working days.
