The news of Huawei at MWC 2022 are not limited to the introduction of new hardware proposals – including the MateBook 16 -, but also concern various innovations regarding the software and services offered by the Shenzhen-based company.
HUAWEI PAY: THE HMS WALLET IS HERE
The first major change concerns the expansion of the world Huawei Mobile Services thanks to the introduction of Huawei Pay, the wallet that will soon allow Italian users to use their card to make contactless payments from their smartphone. The first partner for Italy is the Intesa Sanpaolo group and the PagoBANCOMAT circuit.
At the moment there are no details regarding the launch date of Huawei Pay, however the company has confirmed that this will happen very soon and that the service will subsequently expand further with the addition of other partners. As you can see, the Visa or Mastercard circuit is not mentioned, but only the PagoBANCOMAT one, probably due to the usual problems related to the ban imposed by the United States.
NEW TOOLS FOR HMS
In addition to Pay, Huawei also announced the arrival of several new tools within the HMS that improve and enhance the possibilities offered to developers who choose to embrace the Huawei ecosystem for their applications and games. Then comes the long-awaited expansion to the PC world, with the first desktop versions of Huawei Mobile Cloud, AI Search, AppGallery and Assistant-Todaythanks to which the integration between the PC and mobile world increases considerably through the possibility of synchronizing all the main applications in the cloud.
Finally, there are also news regarding the search engine Petal Search – which lands on AR Glasses – and the world of advertising, since Huawei also enters the advertising sector with the new Huawei Ads platform. In short, the company is aiming to strengthen its ecosystem by making it increasingly independent and self-sustainable.
