During the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Huawei unveiled several innovations, both in terms of products (the new MatePad Paper is noteworthy) and functionality, with a particular focus on Super Device. Today the company showed the public a new notebook, MateBook 16.
The new Huawei Matebook 16, already available at pre-order, is designed for professionals looking for a machine to support them during their creative work. The notebook received the TÜV Rheinland certification for the Color Accuracy and Quick Stability categories, which guarantee the display’s ability to produce true colors and guarantee image stability, two fundamental aspects for those who do this type of work.
The screen has a 16 “diagonal and uses a IPS panel, with a 90% screen-to-body ratio and a resolution of 2520 x 1680 pixels (3: 2 aspect ratio). The display is touchscreen offers a very high color accuracy, with deltaE less than 1, and a coverage of 100% of the sRGB space. The contrast is 15000: 1, while the maximum brightness stands at 300 nit, not very high but sufficient even for work in bright environments.
The dimensions are equal to 17.8 x 351 x 254.9 mm, for a weight of about 1.99 kg. The chassis is available only in “Space Gray” color and is practically the same seen on the other MateBook seen so far. As per tradition, under the body we find a AMD processorin detail a AMD Ryzen 5 5600H or a AMD Ryzen 7 5800Hdepending on the configuration, cooled by the new system Huawei Shark, equipped with two 75mm fans and double heatpipes.
Complete the hardware equipment 16GB of RAM DDR4, a 512GB NVMe SSDan HDMI output, two USB Type C portsone USB 3.2 Gen1 type A port, 3.5mm jack e fingerprint reader integrated in the power button, for an even faster login.
There is also an HD webcam with double microphone for video conferences, while the audio sector is entrusted to a pair of stereo speakers. Unfortunately nothing WiFi 6, but network connectivity is guaranteed by support for WiFi 5 (802.11ac). For what concerns autonomy, according to Huawei the 84Wh battery it is enough to cover the whole working day, but in case you need to recharge the MateBook 16, you can use the convenient 135W USB-C power supply.
Being part of the Huawei ecosystem, the new MateBook 16 supports features such as Huawei Share, Huawei PC Manager, Display Manager and Performance Mode, which can be activated with the key combination Fn + P. As anticipated, Huawei mateBook 16 is already available for pre-order on the Huawei website: it starts from 1119 euros for models with Ryzen 5 5600Hwhile configurations with Ryzen 7 5800H are available starting from 1349 euros.
