The time has come. Next week, fans of the Dark Knight will be able to witness Batman’s return to the big screen, this time played by Robert Pattinson. Recently interviewed to promote the film, director Matt Reeves has unveiled the only request imposed by Warner for the making of The Batman.
The Batman: here is the only request imposed by Warner
Over the last year, numerous speculations had spread around the rating of the film, which for many it could be off-limits to minors as happened with Joker, but the director explained that this hypothesis was never taken into consideration. Here are the statements of him to the microphones of Collider:
“I have to say that they gave me complete confidence and freedom in everything, but there is one aspect they couldn’t compromise on. From the beginning they wanted the film to keep the PG-13 rating because it was still Batman and they had invested a lot in it. They knew the work I had done with Planet of the Apes and have always supported me. I was able to push the limits of the PG-13 rating to the maximum and make a film noir and mature at the same time ”.
Reeves he later confirmed that there will be no director’s cut rated R and who wrote the film from the beginning with the PG-13 rating in mind. Among the darkest figures in the film will be Paul Dano’s Riddler, inspired by the Zodiac Killer. A role that, according to the actor, caused him several sleepless nights.
The Batman will arrive in Italian cinemas on March 3. The film will last almost three hours and has already met with enthusiastic reactions from reporters who have had the opportunity to preview it in London. Matt Reeves also revealed that he has already talked to Warner about a possible sequel.
In the cast of The Batmanin addition to Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman and Paul Dano as Edward Nashton aka The Riddler, we also find Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot aka Penguin.
