A little less than a year ago, during the review, we wondered if Samsung Galaxy S21 + was the right compromise of the flagship series and soon the same question could come back into vogue with Samsung Galaxy S22 +, the protagonist of a new interesting leak.
In recent days we have talked several times about Samsung’s next flagship series, from the feature that should make the three smartphones particularly resistant to the Exynos 2200 SoC that is waiting to be announced, up to the probable European list prices. Today we are not dealing specifically with Samsung Galaxy S22 or Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, but with the median son Samsung Galaxy S22 +.
Samsung Galaxy S22 +: new images and technical specifications
The new leak concerning Samsung Galaxy S22 +, as you have certainly already understood, it includes a series of render images – shared by tipster Ishan Agarwal – that show all sides of it. There is also a summary of the main technical characteristics of the smartphone. Let’s start with the images.
As you have seen in the gallery above, Samsung Galaxy S22 + shouldn’t deviate much from the aesthetic approach of its predecessor.
On the front, you can see a single front camera inserted in a hole at the top, in a central position, and uniform frames around the display. The power and volume adjustment buttons are located on the right side of the smartphone, which seems to be built entirely metal: sideways you can see some thin lines that should be used for the antennas. The back of the Samsung Galaxy S22 + (in these renders) exhibits a triple camera vertically aligned in the upper left corner with the LED flash next to it and the Samsung logo in the usual position.
According to Ishan, Samsung Galaxy S22 + will be launched in the UK in the variant with Exynos 2200. As for the rest of the specifications, we are first talking about a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera with the technology Adaptive Pixel, which should allow two shooting modes: 108 megapixels via mosaic mode and 12 megapixels via very high pixel binning (nonbinding). The images, according to the source, will be captured at 12-bit.
An intermediate model of the S22 range is then assigned a display with a remarkable peak brightness of 1,750 nits and adaptive refresh rate and a weight of 195 grams (against just 167 grams for the Galaxy S22 and 228 grams for the Galaxy S22 Ultra). Finally, Samsung Galaxy S22 + is expected to have one battery from 4,500 mAh with support for fast charging at 45 watts via the USB-C port (there is no mention of wireless charging which, if the smartphone were made of metal, would be absent).
Finally, in a tweet next, the leaker reveals that pre-order shipments and sales of the entire S22 series – which will debut with the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event – should start on February 25, 2022.
