Huawei MateBook 16 aims big, first of all with the sizehowever, accompanied by a respectable hardware sector, and by various tricks software which once again make Huawei one of the manufacturers of Windows laptops not to underestimate.

MateBook 16 has its flagship in the display: a 16 ” 2K, with 90% screen-to-surface ratio, factory calibrated on each single model, in order to have a delta E equal to 1, for true-to-life color reproduction, with full support for the sRGB spectrum. It is also a touch screen panel, with anti-fingerprint coating, capable of a contrast of 1,500: 1, which for a panel of this type is more than good.
On paper, the only real limit is the brightnesswhich settles at just 300 nits: enough for indoor use, but too few for comfortable reading in bright lights, especially as the screen finish is glossy.
Still scrolling through the data sheet, an element of note is the generous battery from 84 Whwhich does not prohibitively affect the weight, which remains under 2 Kg, and taking into account that we are talking about a laptop made entirely of aluminum and of this size, they all fit. The 135 Watt charger via USB-Coversized compared to the supplied hardware, which will therefore allow not only fast charging, but will allow you to have a single power supply for smartphones, tablets and other devices as well.
Right on the front of the multi-device collaborationHuawei has adopted some software precautions on the MateBook 16. For example, you can project the smartphone screen on the laptop display, and then control the two devices simultaneously on the larger screen. And if you had Huawei tablets, monitors and audio accessories, MateBook 16 will be able to work with all of these simultaneously: for example Huawei MatePad Pro it can become a kind of graphics tablet or even a second screen.
The equipment is completed by a backlit keyboard, a glass touchpad, and a fingerprint reader plugged into the power button.
Final note for i processors from AMD: they are certainly two very powerful solutions, perhaps even too much. As has happened in the past with other Huawei laptops (even with Intel processors), the choice to adopt an H series instead of a U series brings with it pros and cons. Among the pros certainly the performanceamong the against the energy expenditure and of costs, and considering that this is not a discrete graphics model, perhaps the more economical solution would have been equally good for most users. But we will talk about this in more detail in the review.
However, Huawei promises that we will be able to take advantage of all the power made available by AMD, thanks also to the new fans Huawei Sharklarger than 75mm in size, with a hinged air inlet design and dual heat pipes, which ensure cooling and quietness, allowing you to push the processor’s TDP up to 54 Watts in performance mode.
