Samsung The Frame TVs are a hit: the Korean giant announced today that it has sold over 1 million during the year, a milestone reached for the first time by a product from the Lifestyle TV range, the one that also includes The Serif designer TVs, The Terrace outdoor models, The Sero vertically adjustable TV and The Premiere ultra-short-throw projectors.
In total, adding the results obtained from the launch of the first The Frame series in 2017, sales will exceed two million pieces at the end of the year, thanks to the strong demand registered in the North American and European markets. Simon Sung, Executive Vice President and Head of the Sales & Marketing Team for the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said:
The Frame is not just a device for watching TV, but a lifestyle product that enhances the surrounding space thanks to its design and enriches the lives of consumers with a large collection of works of art. We continue to look for new ways to strengthen The Frame’s offer in order to propose innovative paths capable of satisfying the ever-changing needs and desires of consumers. We also continue to seek collaborations with new museums, art galleries and artists to increasingly expand the Art Store collection.
Recall that The Frame is the TVs that present themselves with the appearance of paintings, thanks to the magnetic frames that also offer certain freedom in terms of customization. The peculiarity of this series consists in the possibility of exploiting the screens for areas other than entertainment; the aforementioned Art Store offers the digital reproduction of many prestigious works of art. This function transforms The Frame into an advanced version of the most classic digital frames.
In terms of technologies, we point out that from 2020 the whole range is equipped with LCD panels with Quantum Dot, the combination that Samsung summarizes with the term QLED. Currently, the available cuts start from 32 “(the only Full HD, all the others are Ultra HD) and progressively rise to 43”, 50 “, 55”, 65 “, 75” and 85 “.
