Apparently, Microsoft is testing a new version of the taskbar in Windows 11 which will make it easier to use on Tablet, where it will be smaller and show more relevant information such as date and time. This interface, which basically hides the application icons and the Start button, should be shown automatically when you switch to tablet mode, quite useful when using systems with a detachable keyboard, such as Surface. In this mode, more prominence is given to the rest of the screen, but it is always possible, through a simple wipe up, to bring the taskbar back to its “classic” aspect.
This functionality is already offered with the build 22563 Of Windows 11 Insider Preview, but, as stated by Microsoft itself, it is not yet available to all Insiders, as it intends to monitor feedback and verify its correct functioning before offering it to everyone. However, that’s not the only innovation introduced in the latest build. In fact, i widget, added for the first time in Windows Vista, which, especially in tablet mode, allow you to quickly view various information. The new widget page is somewhat reminiscent of iPadOS, offering a dynamic mixed feed comprising both widgets and news.
Another novelty, which this time will certainly be appreciated by system administrators, is the possibility of define a new group policy that prevents the appearance of notifications regarding Windows Update updates during lessonsa situation that could annoy as well as distract.
