Apple introduced the Face IDunlocking the device via 3D face recognition, back in 2017 with iPhone X, but since then the company has never found a method to “fix” this component.
Until today, in case of failure of the iPhone Face ID module, it was necessary to replace the entire device. But now Apple has stated that authorized centers will be able to access the “TrueDepth Camera service” and will be able to replace the Face ID module and the cameras it uses to function. All this though, from iPhone XS and above.
It is not yet clear when this service will be available: Apple has stated that the documentation necessary for the technicians will be released in the future.
