For pay homage to the Vespa original, LEGO has made a 1,106-piece kit which will allow you to create a model of the iconic two-wheeler. This kit will be available from March 1st and has been designed to reproduce the Vespa 125 in detail. The model that can be built and that will entertain both children and their parents, is full of details such as the bouquet of basket on the back, spare wheel, removable engine hood, steering wheel handlebar and kickstand.
The pastel blue color it is a reference to the shades of the 60s and to the Vespa world. The piece? The kit it will cost 99.99 euros and you can buy on the online shop of the LEGO sitein LEGO Stores and other retailers. Florian MullerSenior Designer of the LEGO Group, commented on this project:
Working with the Piaggio team to create this two-wheeled masterpiece was an incredible experience! The design part of the set that impressed me most was the reproduction of the details of the original model, an opportunity to celebrate the classic Vespa of the 1960s. In the conception phase, this model took me back in time, inspiring my imagination and creativity. We hope the experience is the same for the fans! L
Over time, Lego has created several reproduction kits of famous two-wheeled models. We recall, for example, the one dedicated to the BMW M 1000 RR.
1: 1 SCALE MODEL
To present this kit dedicated to the original Vespa, Piaggio and LEGO have relied on Guido Meda and Vera Spadini who, today, at the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera, held a mini event in which they told the story of the iconic Vespa and the LEGO Group. When finished, they unveiled a very special edition of the new LEGO set. It is a 1: 1 scale model of the Vespa 125, made entirely of bricks and very faithful to the miniature vehicle. An engineering masterpiece made up of 110,000 pieces in 11 different colors, weighing 93.3 kg and made in 320 hours of work by a team of 4 expert builders.
A twin model made by LEGO Certified Professional Riccardo Zangelmi will be exhibited in Milan during the Fashion Week. From 25 February until 3 March it can be admired in the POP UP in via Montenapoleone. From 4 March, this 1: 1 scale model will begin a journey around Italy. The first stop will be the LEGO Store in Turin where people can admire it until April 30th.
