Amadeus has presented its accounts for 2021 this morning, in which it has reported some adjusted losses of 44.7 million euros in 2021, which represents a decrease of 85.2% compared to the ‘red numbers’ of a year before and 103.5% on the adjusted profit of 2019.
The income of the company grew by 22.8% compared to 2020, to 2,670.0 million euros, while they decreased by 52.1% compared to 2019.
The gross operating result (EBITDA) reached 627.6 million euros, which represents an increase of 175.5% compared to 2020, although it decreased by 71.9% when compared to 2019.
“Throughout 2021, and despite the impact on the travel sector of the different waves of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are witnessing a continued recovery in the evolution of volumes, with encouraging positive trends in both air bookings and in passengers boarded, in many of the regions,” said the CEO of Amadeus, Luis Maroto. “Going into 2022, we remain cautiously optimistic about a recovery in travel. The continued trust placed in our products and solutions by new and existing customers makes us look to the future with confidence,” he added.
