About to end the second month of the year and in the middle of the results presentation season, Telefónica announced earnings of 8,137 million in 2021, multiplying by five what was obtained in the pandemic year.
The company has invoiced 39,277 million euros, an international decrease of 8.8% in absolute terms, but 2% more in organic terms, since the British subsidiary ceases to belong to the perimeter of the group and its impact on the accounts will be seen reflected via dividends, according to data submitted to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
Continuing in the line of results, a company that made the leap to the great Spanish index just a few months ago presented its figures at the beginning of the week and that since then has done nothing but dazzle the market. We are referring to Laboratorios Rovi, which became the main protagonist by presenting earnings 151% higher than 2020, reaching 153.1 million euros.
“It has been an exceptional year”, were the words of its Head of Investor Relations, Marta Campos, in her presentation of 2021 results for Investment Strategies.
In addition to Rovi, pharmaceutical companies in general are experiencing one of their brightest years and it is that the commitment to pharmaceutical R&D&i pays off: their firms achieved a 7% return on investment in 2021.
In the last stock market session, Grupo Insur, Sacyr and eDreams ODIGEO, among others, presented their figures.
For its part, Grupo Insur reaches a turnover of 25.3 million and an increase in Ebitda of 32.9%. The turnover of Grupo Insur’s activities in 2021 stood at 125.3 million euros.
Sacyr closed the first year of its 2021-2025 Strategic Plan with an increase in EBITDA of 28%, to 923 million euros. In addition, Turnover grew 3%, to 4,675 million euros, and profitability (margin over EBITDA) climbed to 19.7%, significantly above (+24% of that registered in 2020, which was 15, 9%).
Finally, eDreams ODIGEO has increased its revenue by 218% to 95.4 million. The company shows a solid performance despite Ómicron, with its reservations +26% above pre-pandemic levels and a 186% growth in the number of Prime subscribers.
From the business side, in Investment Strategies we have spoken with Luis Guijarro, CMO of FacePhi Biometrics, about the technology agreement with WiBLE, opening up to a new sector in which it was not present now.
