Just this morning we reported the latest rumors about Android 13, but now let’s look at the present, which sees the various OEMs grappling with the release of updates to Android 12 for their smartphones and which today sees Samsung as protagonists (for a change ) and OPPO.
Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G: the news of the update
It is the excellent mid-range Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, which stood out in the last part of last year (you can find our review at this link), the smartphone of the South Korean manufacturer that is being updated in these hours.
Actually – and, if you follow us carefully, you have probably already noticed -, the rollout of the major update ad Android 12 and to One UI 4 for Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G had already left a few days ago. The great fresh news of the day is that just two days later the update has already reached Europe, so much so that the release is currently underway in France, Luxembourg, Poland, and Switzerland. In short, if it has not yet done so, it is only a matter of hours before the coveted notification also appears on the Italian models.

OPPO A74 5G: the news of the update
Moving around the house OPPO, OPPO A74 5G is not exactly the most famous model of the Chinese manufacturer’s lineup, but it is taken into due consideration and it is now updating to ColorOS 12 with base Android 12 (here she is our dedicated video test).
OPPO A74 5G does not appear in the Q1 2022 roadmap seen in recent days, because in reality, it was already on the list of December 2021. Just a month after starting to recruit for the Open Beta build, however, the manufacturer is already releasing the update in the stable version.
The announcement came, as usual, through a post on the OPPO Community, which also offers us all the details of the update, starting from the reference market: at the moment, unfortunately, the rollout only concerns India.
In addition to the new version of ColorOS, as mentioned, it is also present Android 12. The firmware version in the rollout is C.29 and the manufacturer reports that to install it, it is necessary to have A.12 as the firmware version installed.
How to update Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G and OPPO A74 5G
Not all of the updates described are also available in Europe. In any case, you can perform a manual search using the following paths:
- for the Samsung, “Settings> Software Updates> Download and Install“.
- for OPPO, “Settings > Software Update > Gear Icon > Update Early Access > Official Version Application > Agree to Privacy Agreement > Apply Now“.
