Alfa Romeo Giulia Coupé, this is how past and present meet

Since return of Alfa Romeo to the US market, which took place in 2014, many fans of the brand dreamed of the arrival of a new Giulia to accompany the sedan, much appreciated all over the world. Now, an independent designer has imagined what it could be like in reality by combining the lines of modern cars with important references to the past.

The design was created by Maxim Shershnev and, while he doesn’t work for Alfa Romeo, he has a pretty interesting resume having collaborated with the likes of Volkswagen, Audi, Renault and Marussia. In his Coupe we can clearly see elements inherited from Giulia and Stelvio, such as the headlights (front and rear), the front grille (the classic shield with the snake logo embedded in it) and the wheels. The rounded roof, the flat hood and the overall shape of the car are reminiscent of the historian Giulia.

There are other features too, such as the B-pillar line, bumper fascia and side detailing, which are completely new but manage to integrate seamlessly with the design language Shershnev has created. Among the most noteworthy aspects certainly the central triangular-shaped exhaust, which recalls the front grille. In some ways, this design is also reminiscent of the famous Flying saucerinitially created in the 1950s and revived in more modern times (in 2013) as a concept of the 8C.

Some rumors have been suggesting for some time that Alfa could prepare a new GTV coupe, equipped however with some form of electrification to follow market trends. Alfa Romeo has recently unveiled the Tonale and the roadmap foresees the arrival of another SUV in the coming months; for a Coupé, which could actually fill a gap in the current range, we still have to wait several months. In more detail, Alfa Romeo will present from 2022 to 2026 five models: Tonale (SUV), Brennero (SUV), the successors of Giulia and Stelvio (in 2025) and finally a mysterious Coupé with power between 200 and 400 horsepower.
