EiDF Solar: Agolives installs a 1.4 MW photovoltaic plant

Agolives (Aceitunas del Guadalquivir), one of the largest olive processing and marketing companies, reinforces its environmental commitment with the installation of a 1.4 MW photovoltaic plant for self-consumption. Thanks to the placement of 3,188 solar panels, divided between the roof of the warehouse and the car park, Agolives will cover 33% of its energy needs in the olive production and packaging process at its La Harina factory, located in MorĂ³n de la Border. The annual savings in your daytime consumption will reach 41.5% of your electricity rate.

The company EiDF Solar, specialized in photovoltaic solar energy projects, has been the firm selected to execute and operate said installation. Under a turnkey service, EiDF Solar has carried out the engineering, installation, administrative-legal processing and maintenance work. This operation has also had the advice of the KPMG Turnaround team.

The plant’s power is divided between the roof, on which 1,697 photovoltaic modules have been installed, totaling a power of 755.32 kWp, and the car park, where photovoltaic canopies have been designed with 1,491 modules and a total power of 663.49 kWp. The installation on the roof has already been completed, while the work for the placement of solar panels on canopies is being carried out. The area occupied on the roof is 3,121 m2 and 2,386 m2 on parking.

The estimated annual production is 1,953,492 kWh, the equivalent to the consumption of more than 500 households. Agolives will reduce its carbon footprint and impact on the environment by eliminating the emission of 512 tons of CO2 per year. This emission saving is similar to the planting of more than almost 50,000 trees.

With this action, Agolives advances in its environmental plan based on reducing the consumption of natural resources and minimizing the impact of its activity on the environment. The company has launched various initiatives in the last year to reduce the consumption of water and electricity.
