2021 is coming to an end and there is no trace of the new tablets of the Galaxy line, anticipated by the numerous rumors that followed one another during the year. Yet the new Galaxy Tab S8 is still part of the South Korean manufacturer’s projects and to reiterate it is an official document sighted on the official website (to be precise on Samsung’s UK site).
It is a PDF with a prospectus (Appendix 2) that lists the tablets valid for the Samsung trade-in program that allows you to obtain a reduction in the price of the new product, giving back the old one. The discounted devices already include those of the Galaxy Tab S8 range.
The document is useful for two reasons: on the one hand, it confirms the imminent debut of tablets, on the other, it provides details on the composition of the line. It will consist of three models, available in different memory sizes, with and without LTE / 5G connectivity: the variant. base, a Plus model, and an Ultra model. More specifically, the document refers to:
- Tab S8 Ultra:
- WiFi, 512GB
- WiFi + LTE, 512GB
- WiFi, 256GB
- WiFi + LTE, 256GB
- WiFi, 128GB
- WiFi + LTE, 128GB
- Tab S8:
- Tab S8 +
Note that the memory cuts of the Tab S8 and S8 + are not yet specified e. that a version of the S8 Ultra with 5G connectivity is missing. This list does not necessarily apply to all markets – other variants may be distributed outside the UK market.
WHAT TO EXPECT AND WHEN
The hardware identikit of the new Samsung tablets was composed piece by piece thanks to previous rumors. The first relevant difference between the three models concerns the screen: the standard one should equip a panel with an 11 “diagonal, Tab S8 + a 12.4” Super AMOLED and finally the Ultra a 14.6 “display, also Super AMOLED There has also been talked of a “Lite” version with an 11 “LCD screen but the document does not mention this model. The core of the hardware platform will be formed by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
There is a debate on the arrival date of the Galaxy Tab S8 line: the debut seemed imminent on more than one occasion, but in November there was talk of the hypothesis of a delayed launch to privilege the arrival of the Galaxy S22, after the emergence of some production problems. The new Samsung flagships will be presented in February 2022, with or without the Galaxy Tab S8 tablets will depending on the manufacturer’s ability to overcome the aforementioned difficulties.
