Huawei MatePad Paper, E-Ink tablet ready to challenge Remarkable

Among the devices presented at the Mobile World Congress 2022 in Barcelona by Huawei, the new MatePad Paper it is undoubtedly one of the most interesting. This is the first E-Ink tablet of the company, designed to guarantee high-end businessmen and early adopters (this is the target of the product according to Andreas Zimmer of Huawei) an engaging reading and writing experience, as similar as possible to that obtained with a real sheet of paper, as well as “paper-less”.

The new Huawei MatePad Paper is equipped with a E-Ink FullView display 10.3 “, with a screen-to-body ratio of 86.3%. Thanks to the Huawei E-Ink Display Enhancement algorithm, the touch experience is extremely natural, as if you were handling a sheet of paper. The tablet supports several input methods, such as voice recording, but gives its best when paired with Huawei M-Pencil second generation, which allows you to write by hand and convert written text. Among the features we also find Split-Screen Notes and Annotations, which offer an even smarter user experience.

Huawei MatePad Paper is equipped with HarmonyOS 2which offers even more possibilities and functionality, thanks to the availability of the App Gallery and some selected applications, as well as the connection and collaboration features also included within Super Device: for example, users can continue reading content from their phone or from your PC to a connected MatePad Paper, for a better experience, with reduced eye and eye strain.

We don’t know much else about MatePad Paper, other than that will arrive in Italy over the next few weeks. The price is still unknown, but we know that in the American market it will be available at $ 499: the figure puts it in direct competition with Remarkable 2 (if we consider $ 399 for the device + $ 129 for stylus), a decidedly very similar product that is receiving quite a success in recent months. We are curious to find out if the new Huawei MatePad Paper will be able to give the competitor a hard time, but to find out we can not help but wait to have the Huawei tablet in our hands and make all the necessary comparisons.
