Samsung Galaxy S22: all crazy about flagships
Samsung Electronics recently announced its latest flagship series of Galaxy S22 smartphones. Immediately after the debut, pre-orders were released, and it is noted that the company broke several records in many regions. In South Korea alone, pre-orders of the series surpassed the impressive one million mark.
According to the South Korean tech giant, the number of pre-orders on the first day exceeded 300,000. This set the highest national record of any Galaxy series smartphone. The previous record was held by the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 which were released in August last year. And just a week later, that figure has increased to include a total of 1.02 million units in pre-orders, which is the highest ever.
This means that the Galaxy S22 series has dethroned the Galaxy S8 which has received the highest pre-orders ever.
Across the range, we know that the high-end Galaxy S22 Ultra accounted for 60% of all pre-orders, and that’s not surprising considering this particular model also attracts fans of the now extinct Note range.
The company wasn’t just successful in its home market, its pre-orders broke records in other regions as well. We previously reported that Samsung had also broken records in India, with pre-orders reaching over 70,000 units in just 12 hours.
Hence, we assume that that figure has increased since then. Likewise, the brand had a great success also in the United States. Second Samsung Newsroom USAthe S22 series has recorded record-breaking pre-orders in the region, with the Galaxy S22 Ultra at the top.
Bryan Choi, a senior brand executive added that “We are thrilled that these devices have already become among our most popular ever“.
