The numbers published by Kaspersky are impressive to say the least and confirm that the mobile sector is full of pitfalls between trojan, malware And ransomwareespecially for inexperienced users or for those who do not respect the basic precautionary rules.

- 3,464,756 malicious installation packages (down 2,218,938 from the previous year)
- 97,661 new mobile banking Trojans
- 17,372 new mobile ransomware Trojans
Fortunately, there is also good news: according to Kaspersky staff, in fact, in the course of 2021 it was observed a downward trend in the number of attacks suffered by mobile users.
Unfortunately the attacks are also becoming more sophisticated both in terms of malware functionality and vectors, which increases the level of pitfalls mobile users are exposed to.
Despite the great efforts of Google, there are still many malware found by security experts in applications published on the Google Play Store and among the examples that are given there are Joker Trojan (which writes victims to paid subscriptions), Facestealer Trojan (which steals Facebook account credentials) and various trojans related to banking applications.
Kaspersky staff also points out that there are also in the Google Play Store various scam appssuch as those that imitate services for requesting social benefits and that instead redirect users to pages that require their data and the payment of a sum.
In 2021, as in previous years, the largest share of attacks on mobile users was related to malware (80.69%) and the share of adware-based attacks also continued to grow (reaching 16.92% versus 14.62%). % In 2020) while the share of RiskWare attacks decreased (2.38% against 3.21% in 2020).
