The chain of stores John Lewis provided the first indications on the price of the new LG C2 series OLEDs. The UK retailer has placed the 48 “cut in pre-order: the price is set at 1,399 Pounds100 more than the C1 (1,299 Sterne) of the same size at the time of the official launch in 2021.
As often happens in these cases, the data reported may not be official and definitive but simply serve as a basis for adding a new product. However, this does not seem to be the case also because the product page is still online: when it comes to errors or premature publication, we usually proceed to remove the visibility (at least of the prices) in a relatively short time.
If the information given is correct, the 48 “C2 will be available in March: on the John Lewis website we read that delivery is expected in 5 weeks. While waiting for news relating to the Italian market (which usually does not arrive so soon), we briefly summarize the main features of the new 2022 series. The C2 TVs differ from the C1 mainly because of the panels: the C2s are OLED Evo and therefore offer a higher luminance peak than conventional OLEDs.
However, this feature does not seem to be extended to the smaller denominations, namely 42 “and 48”. LG had let it be understood with some notes during the presentation at CES and also reports it on the official Italian site. In fact, in the caption under the video you can read the following:
The OLED evo models feature higher brightness than traditional LG OLED models of similar size, with the exception of the 42-inch and 48-inch C2 models.
The other most important specifications are as follows:
- 42 “, 48”, 55 “, 65”, 77 “and 83” Ultra HD OLED evo panels
- Refresh rate at 100 / 120Hz
- Alpha 9 Gen 5 4KAI processor
- 4 HDMI 2.1 at 48 Gbps
- eARC, Ultra HD at 120Hz, Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency Mode
- FreeSync Premium and G-SYNC
- webOS 22
- HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Vision IQ
- Dolby Atmos
- AV1
NOTE: Prices in Europe may differ from one state to another; the unofficial 48 “list relating to the United Kingdom, therefore, serves as a rough indication while waiting to know the prices for our country.
