Realme GT2 Pro achieves Performance class 12 ahead of global launch

Realme GT2 Pro debuted in China – paired with Realme GT2 – last month and now, as the global launchhas obtained the certification Performance class 12 by Google.

In recent times Realme has renewed its lineup on our market, starting from the Realme Pad tablet (of which you can find our review at this link) and passing through the mid-range models Realme 9i, 9 Pro and 9 Pro + (here is our review ).

Now the Chinese manufacturer is preparing to complete the work by bringing the new flagship to the Old Continent – where in 2021 it was the fastest growing brand -: the European launch of Realme GT2 Pro will take place under the spotlight of the Mobile World Congress 2022.

Waiting for the main announcement (set for February 28th), Realme made another interesting one with the same protagonist: Realme GT2 Pro is one of the first smartphones to receive certification Performance class 12 by Google.

Google performance class 12: what it is and what it is for

If you have been following us closely in recent months, you already know what we are talking about: “Performance class“Is a new standard that the Mountain View giant has introduced starting from Android 12 and that”defines a set of device capabilities that go beyond basic Android requirements“. Its purpose is to help app developers understand what software functions a certain Android smartphone or tablet can perform. To give an example, the Performance class 12 (reserved for smartphones with the highest level of performance) should offer the “most premium experience“, While class 11 would require you to settle for a”high quality experience“.

THE minimum requirements provided by the Android 12 Compatibility Definition Document (CDD) for the Performance class 12 include: a 12MP rear camera with support for 4K video recording at 30fps; a front camera of 5 MP or greater with support for 1080p video recording at 30fps; a minimum display resolution of 1080p with 400DPI and a minimum RAM memory allocation of 6GB.

As you may have already guessed, these are not particularly difficult requirements to meet for a modern smartphone from the mid-range to rise, therefore the certification of models with technical data sheets such as that of Realme GT2 Pro it is a mere formality.

Realme GT2 Pro: summary of the technical sheet

It is worth remembering, in fact, that Realme’s next flagship offers quite ambitious technical characteristics.

Starting from the screen, Realme GT2 Pro adopts Samsung E4 AMOLED panel with technology LTPO 2.0QHD + resolution (3216 x 1440 pixels), adaptive refresh rate up to 120 HzHDR10 certified, 1000 Hz touch sampling rate, 1400 nits maximum brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

Performance is entrusted to the Mobile Platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, with octa-core 3.0 Ghz CPU and Adreno 730 GPU, backed by 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128, 256 or 512 B of UFS 3.1 internal memory. To keep the temperatures under control there is a specific heat dissipation chamber that allows you to reduce the temperature of the chipset by three degrees.

The photographic sector is also very respectable (at least on paper): the front camera is 32 megapixel, while the rear one is triple with: 50 megapixel main, 50 megapixel ultra-wide angle and 3 megapixel macro.

Also noteworthy is the 5,000 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 65 watts (full charge in 33 minutes).

The smartphone will come on the market with Android 12 out of the boxpersonalized with the renewed realme UI 3.0.
