Samsung once again underlines the renewed attention to the software sector of its devices by starting the rollout of a upgrade for Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 smartband. In fact, almost a year and a half after its introduction on the markets, in these hours the South Korean giant is issuing an update weighing just 2.16 MB which actually integrates some very interesting functions.
In fact, as it is pointed out in these hours on the net, the firmware R220XXU1AVB8 finally introduces the possibility of controlling the camera shutter of the smartphone paired directly from the smartband, a feature much requested by users that thus allows you to manage the taking of a photo directly from the wrist.

But there is more: together with this feature, the development team of Samsung has also introduced a better management of the telephone component. According to the changelog accompanying the update, in the event of an incoming call on the phone it is possible to reject it by automatically sending an SMS – the feature therefore follows a function that we increasingly find also in the phones of the major manufacturers. In addition, from the point of view strictly related to fitness, we also record the introduction of jump rope tracking.
Samsung is keen to point out that the feature that introduces camera control via Galaxy Fit 2 is only available for smartphones with Android 7.0 Nougat up – almost impossible to find around yet, but you never know. The update comes almost a year later than the one released in March 2021: we hope that the company does not let another year pass before introducing additional features for the economic range smartband.
Finally, to date, there are no indications that the hi-tech giant has another smartband model in the pipeline: the company seems rather focused on the Galaxy Watch4 smartwatches that are receiving the update to Wear OS 3.2.
