From a film that started off with bad premises – we recall the controversy over the first CGI version of the blue hedgehog – to a film capable of setting the box office record at the debut for a production based on a video game character. Sonic’s film debut finally convinced a large part of audiences and critics – recently the director of Uncharted also spoke well about it – and starting from this important premise Paramount decided to try to repeat its success by announcing last year the arrival of the sequel.
The film will hit theaters in April. Meanwhile the production shared three new posters that will delight anyone who has enjoyed the SEGA video game franchise. In fact, the protagonists are, in addition to the porcupine, Tails And Knuckles, respectively, Sonic’s trusted friend and nemesis who will join the cast (in CGI) of the film. Along with the new characters, Doctor Robotnik will also return, always played by an effervescent Jim Carrey – part of the success of the first chapter must be attributed to his contribution.
The film is directed by Jeff Fowler, who also covered the first film. The cast (in flesh and blood), in addition to the aforementioned Carrey, includes James Marsden, Ben Schwartz (Sonic’s voice), Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shermar Moor, Idris Elba (voice of Knuckles) e Colleen O’Shaughnessey (voice of Tails)
Remember the synopsis, while those who missed the first official trailer can make up for it with the video incorporated at the end of the article.
