There is something wrong with the OnePlus 10 Proheadlines the American youtuber JerryRigEverything, specialist in “stress tests”. In fact, in his video dedicated to the new top of the range from OnePlus, more than something goes wrong: the 10 Pro does not stand up to the bending test in any way, in which the device is precisely bent by applying a little force to the center of the body. .
To tell the truth, instead of bending over, OnePlus 10 Pro it literally splits in two just above the battery. The front and rear windows are shattered, while the previously activated LED flash continues to work. Not that it’s good for anything: reduced like this, the smartphone is absolutely unusable.
For the moment, OnePlus 10 Pro is only official in China. The global release is expected in mid-March, but apparently someone managed to get it a few days earlier.
JerryRigEverything – born Zack Nelson – is one of them. In the video, the youtuber subjects the device to the usual test process including “Scratch” test (with screwdrivers and cutter), “Burn” test (with lighter) e “Bend” test (with your hands), and in most cases the 10 Pro responds as it should.
For the insiders, the OnePlus 10 Pro’s glass display sits around the level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, while the OLED display burns out after approx 45 seconds under the flame of a lighter. These two data are in line with those of many other smartphones of 2021-2022.
It is in the phase of “Bend” test that the first problems arise: a high-end phone shouldn’t break so easily, yet the OnePlus 10 Pro yields after the first fold made towards the display (the second in total).
Looking inside, it is easy to understand where the problems originate from: between the camera module and the battery there is one empty space. Furthermore, on the left side, the volume rocker aligns perfectly with this space, making it even easier for such “inconveniences” to occur.
