During a dealer conference a You love meVolvo has anticipated its plans for the near future, starting with the realization of seven new electrified vehicles, including five fully electric.
On Autonewsan anonymous source attending the conference revealed that the first all-electric car should look like the Concept Recharge, unveiled in 2021, and which would go into production in 2023. Additionally, the company plans to announce another crossover, which is currently codenamed “V546” and which will be positioned between the XC60 and XC90. Production is expected to start in 2025 at the plant located in South Carolina.
The same source said the automaker also revealed it was working on one fully electric version of the XC60 and on a new vehicle that will position itself under the XC40. Finally, Volvo talked about the new one “Ride Pilot” autonomous driving technology. This system would use more than 24 sensorsamong which LiDAR and ultrasound so that the AI can understand the surrounding world. The technology will be tested this year in California.
