Of Whatsapp, everything can be said except that it does not constantly offer aesthetic innovations and new functionalities. It must be said: the team of developers of the instant messaging app is always working to refine the platform, thus making the user experience more and more satisfying. The update we want to talk about today is not one of the fundamentals, but it is, in any case, a sign of constant commitment to optimizing the service.
For several months now we have been getting used to the visualization of sound waves when we record a voice message: the feature was originally released towards the end of August, and is now slowly extending. The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android – 2.21.25.11 – and for iOS – 2.21.240.18 – in fact, it carries the sound waves inside the bubbles, which are therefore displayed not only when we record the voice, but also when we receive it from another contact and listen to it.
This little news, he explains WABetaInfo, had already been released on Android in beta 2.21.13.17, only to be removed. Now go back to both operating systems for some beta testers. Yes, only a few, because it seems that the waves in the bubbles are not visible to everyone participating in the beta program. In practice, it appears that the new layout is only available if:
- WhatsApp has activated the feature for that specific account
- the sender has, in turn, activated the function
- the sender recorded the voice message with the latest available version of WhatsApp: if it is a previous one, the message is not displayed with waves
