Beyblade live-action movie announced

It’s official: Deadline announced the Beyblade live-action moviefranchise created by Takara Tomy! Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean, National Treasure, Top Gun) And Paramount they are producing the film while Neil Widener And Gavin James they’re writing the script. No other information has leaked so we just have to wait for new developments.

Beyblade: the franchise

Takara Tomy launched the original game franchise in 1999, which was then licensed by several toy companies including Hasbro. The concept of the fighting tops inspired manga, anime and comic series, followed by localized international television releases, all based on a Beyblade fighting tournament. Amazon!)

It was followed by the second season Beyblade Burst God (Beyblade Burst Evolution) in April 2017 and then from Beyblade Burst Chōzetsu in April 2018. The anime Beyblade Burst Rise debuted in Japan in April 2019 with the title Beyblade Burst GT on the YouTube channel Coro Coro Comics and the streaming service Takara Tomy Channel.

The latest anime project for the series Beyblade Burst, Beyblade Burst Sparking (or Beyblade Burst Super King), premiered on CoroCoro Channel and Takara Tomy Channel (both on YouTube) in April 2020.


In Italy Beyblade it was broadcast for the first time on April 5, 2003 on Italia 1, with great success. The franchise also includes an anime film that takes place chronologically between the end of the second series and the beginning of the third and a manga series (Bakuten Shūto Beiburēdo) written by Takao Aoki and published in the journal CoroCoro Comic starting from September 1999 until July 2004. It arrived in Italy in 2003, on a monthly basis, published by the Play Press, with the name of Beyblade – Do you accept the challenge?. From July 15, 2016, Takao Aoki began work on a sequel to the original manga, titled Bakuten Shoot Beyblade: Rising set after the events of G-Revolution and is still ongoing.
