Another former champion has decided to leave WWE. This is Cesaro, a Swiss superstar that many would have liked to see with a world title around his life, but the Stamford Company has always denied him this opportunity.
Cesaro has decided to leave WWE
Cesaro’s departure from WWE was described by PWInsider as “silent”. The Company tried to offer him a one-year contract extension, but the two sides failed to reach an agreement.
At this point Cesaro would be free to land elsewhere, not having to comply with the 90-day non-competition clause. At the moment, WWE has not yet released any official statement on the matter.
Cesaro’s last match dates back to the episode of 11 February of SmackDown where he was defeated by Happy Corbin. The Swiss wrestler was a veteran of the independent federations, Ring of Honor in the first place, before joining WWE in 2011.
Milestones at Stamford include United States Championshipthe couple titles of SmackDown and Raw and the victory of the first Andrè The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX in 2014.
Over the years Cesaro has become the protagonist of great matches and many supported him, John Cena in the first place, but Vince McMahon never thought of it as main event material. Also noteworthy is the partnership with Paul Heyman, which ultimately resulted in a stalemate.
Seth Rollins also wanted to comment on the news of his passing, posting on Twitter a gif taken from their match of the past edition of WrestleMania, where Cesaro was the winner.

We will see if Tony Khan will make false papers to try to bring him into All Elite Wrestling (as he recently did with Keith Lee) or if Cesaro can decide to choose other destinations, perhaps even New Japan Pro Wrestling.
