Finally, no two apps will be needed to control Philips Hue with Bluetooth

The range of smart lights Philips Hue works in two ways: some lights need the Bridge, with the latter connected to the network via cable, while others simply need the Bluetooth connection. To control these lights, however, they are currently necessary two different apps based on the type of connectionbut Philips is finally running for cover.

Last month there was talk of a possible integration of the Philips Hue Bluetooth app into the Philips Hue app, but this has only become reality with the recent version 4.13 of the main app, now published on the Play Store. When configuring the lights, it will therefore be possible choose the type of connection from the Philips Hue appwithout switching to other software.

In any case, for now Philips recommends users with Bluetooth-only bulbs to continue using the Philips Hue Bluetooth app until they are prompted to switch to the Philips Hue app, a sign that there may still be bugs to fix regarding the integration.
