Formula 1, the new Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN C42. The livery is inspired by the past

After seeing her at the Barcelona tests with a still camouflaged livery, Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN officially presented the his new single-seater C42. So, finally we can admire the livery with which the car will race in the new Formula 1 World Championship.

The livery is a reference to the past, as it takes inspiration from the history of the Alfa Romeo and Sauber Motorsport brands, precisely on the occasion of the thirtieth participation of the Hinwil team in the Formula One world championship. To design it, the Alfa Romeo Style Center.

The two dominant colors, red and white, blend perfectly. The red covers the engine area with a diagonal cut that gives dynamism to the car body. This is where the historic Alfa Romeo lettering is placed, diagonally: a reference to the beginning of the century, in the 1920s it appeared on the brand’s racing cars. Below, there is the word Tonale, the brand’s first compact SUV, recently presented. The “Quadrifoglio”, a symbol of sportiness, finds space in the upper part leaning on the diagonal of the meeting between red and white. On the rear part of the wing we find the “Tricolore” on which the word “Alfa Romeo” stands proudly.

Following the introduction of the new regulation, the car is radically different from the past, as it exploits the possibilities offered by the new ground effect, the new aerodynamic solutions and the new 18-inch tires. Curiosity, on the bodywork there is the writing “Tonale”, the new SUV that Alfa Romeo recently unveiled. The reason for this choice was explained directly by the Alfa Romeo CEO, Jean Philippe Learned:

For Alfa Romeo too, 2022 represents a year of metamorphosis, with the launch of Tonale the brand is projected into the era of electrification and connectivity, remaining faithful to its DNA of noble Italian sportsmanship since 1910. For this reason we strongly wanted the name “Tonale” was present on the single-seater.

The drivers are driving the C42 single-seater Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu.
