Honor officially unveils the new X30 and Play 30 Plus smartphones

Honor continues to renew its range of smartphones Android presenting the new Honor X30, a new device of the X30 range that already includes X30i and X30 Max unveiled last October, and the entry-level Honor Play 30 Plus. The two smartphones, for the moment, are reserved for the Chinese market with sales that will start by the end of December. In the future, there may also be a European debut for both smartphones or even just one of the two. Let’s see the Datasheet of the new Honor smartphones.

Honor X30: among the specifications, there is the new Snapdragon 695

The new Honor X30 aims to conquer the mid-range with a characteristic design and good technical specifications. The smartphone is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, a chipset made with a 6 nm production process that the American company unveiled last October. The SoC is paired with various combinations of RAM (6-12GB) and storage (128 and 256GB).

Among the technical specifications, there is also room for a large 6.8 inch IPS LCD. The panel has Full HD + resolution (1080 x 2388 pixels) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The battery is a unit of 4,800 mAh with full support for fast charging from 66 W. A 0 to 80% charge will take just 30 minutes. The rear photographic compartment, enclosed in a huge circular module that recalls the series Magic 3, includes three sensors.

Honor X30 presents a 48 Megapixel main camera supported by two 2 Megapixel sensors, one for Macro and one for depth. There is also a 16 Megapixel front camera that completes the specs. On the software side, we find Android 11 with Magic UI 5.0. The device has dimensions equal to 166.1 x 75.8 x 8.1 mm for a weight of 189 grams. There is no headphone jack and the fingerprint sensor is on the side.

The smartphone will be marketed in four variants, all shown in the official image attached below. They range from black to blue through a silver version, characterized by a gradient starting from blue, and a gold version. The new Honor X30 will go on sale in China starting December 24th. The range starts at 1,499 CNY, which is around 197 euros. For the moment, there are no confirmations regarding international marketing.

Honor Play 30 Plus: entry-level with Density 700

The Honor range also records the debut of the new Honor Play 30 Plus. In this case, we are faced with an entry-level with an excellent quality/price ratio. To manage the operation of the smartphone there is the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC which is flanked by 4/6/8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The display, on the other hand, is a unit of 6.7 in with a 90 Hz refresh rate LCD panel. However, the resolution is limited to HD +.

The photographic sector is also very basic which includes, in the back, a module which, also, in this case, recalls recent Honor products. Despite the large size of the module, there are only two photographic sensors present. There’s a 13 Megapixel main sensor and a 2 Megapixel depth-of-field sensor. The front chamber, enclosed in the drop notch, has a 5 Megapixel sensor.

To complete the technical data sheet of the new Honor 30 Play Plus we find a battery from 5,000 mAh with fast charging from 22.5 W. The smartphone can count on Android 11 with Magic UI 5.0 and on four different colors (black, silver, gold, and blue). The dimensions are equal to 167.59 × 77.19 × 8.62 mm for a total weight of 198 grams. The fingerprint sensor is on the side.

Sales of the device will start in China from December 31st. The price list starts from 1,099 CNY, equal to approximately 145 euros. The top of the range (8/128 GB) arrives on the market with the same price (1,499 CNY) as the basic version of the much more interesting Honor X30 (6/128 GB). Again, there are no confirmations regarding the start of sales outside of China.
