The Chinese company presented two wearable gadgets to regain the place stolen by Samsung, and it does so by presenting the smartwatch Xiaomi Watch S1 and headphones Xiaomi Buds 3 And Buds 3 Pro. If on the Xiaomi Watch S1 many rumors had made it clear the type of product to expect, the TWS earphones with noise cancellation Xiaomi Buds 3 are a real novelty.

Xiaomi Watch S1

The new smartwatch Xiaomi Watch S1 immediately stands out for two structural innovations: the presence of a sapphire crystal its band with fluorinated rubber compound. Sapphire crystal is used in fine watchmaking to provide better mechanical protection than normal glass crystals, and given the associated high cost, it is usually reserved for high-end products.

The version strap Obsidian Black instead is made with a compound that, compared to traditional silicone straps, offers high resistance to attack by chemical agents, ultraviolet rays, and oxidizing agents. This type of material is also easier to clean and does not become covered in dust like traditional silicone bands, which are cheaper. For those who love a more classic look, there is no shortage of genuine calf leather straps, cut in a single piece to make the most of the natural texture of this type of leather.

The Watch S1 by Xiaomi presents one 1.43 inch AMOLED screen with a density of 326 PPI and a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. Inside we find the BES2500BP chipset, 4 GB of RAM, And 32 GB of internal memory to be able, for example, to keep your music library.

Despite the classic look, this Xiaomi smartwatch has respectable fitness functions, such as:

  • measurement of heart rate and blood oxygenation;
  • support and registration of over 117 sports, including 19 professional sports;
  • route tracking via dual-frequency GPS with support for BeiDou, GLONASS, GALILEO, and QZSS satellite networks;
  • sleep monitoring.

There 470 mAh battery integrated allows, according to the company, to be able to use it without recharging it for 12 consecutive days, and up to 24 days by sacrificing some of the smart features and tracking of vital signs. It is recharged via a magnetic attachment and takes about two and a half hours to be fully recharged.

The excellent autonomy is also due to the proprietary operating system, so on board, there will be no Wear OS like – which lately has also conquered the Samsung smartwatches. However, there will be a store where you can freely choose which apps to download on the smartwatch to enhance its functionality. More than 20 apps have been announced at the moment, including Alipay, Baidu Maps, AutoNavi Maps, NetEase Cloud Music, Air Travel, and Aidong Fitness. We do not know if, and when, this smartwatch will be localized for use in our country, the store will contain more commonly used apps such as Spotify.
