Madrid, Feb 21 (.).- The , the most traded cryptocurrency in the world, has fallen this Monday to 37,390 dollars shortly after noon, 2.2% less than the last close, with which it accumulates a drop of more than 9 % in the last eight days, according to data from Bloomberg consulted by Efe.

The cryptocurrency began to fall last Thursday, amid an environment of uncertainty in the world’s large stock markets due to the worsening of the situation in Ukraine, which adds to the already existing one in the market due to the change in the monetary policy of the big central banks.

Bitcoin, which fell from $40,000 yesterday, has lost more than 15% of its value so far in 2022.

The minimum of the year was marked on January 24, when it reached less than 33,000 dollars shortly before the monetary policy meeting of the Federal Reserve (Fed), the lowest price since July of last year.

Other cryptocurrencies, such as ether, have followed a similar evolution to bitcoin and today it is trading at 2,607 dollars, 0.35% less than the previous closing. Since 2022 began, it has lost 30%.
