Electric motorcycles and scooters, incentives also in 2022. It starts again on January 13th

As we know, the 2022 Budget Law has not introduced new incentives for cars. A situation that, as we have seen, did not like the trade associations that ask for an urgent intervention from the Government to create a strategy to support a sector that is in difficulty.

In 2022instead, the incentives for electric motorcycles and scooters. Through the previous 2021 Budget Law, the Government had extended these contributions until 2026. In particular, the Government had allocated a total of 150 million euros: 20 million for each year from 2021 to 2023 and 30 million for each of the years from 2024 to 2026.

The novelty is that starting from tomorrow 13 January 2022 and precisely from 10 am, the 2022 funds will be made available and the concessionaires will once again be able to book the contribution. To check the level of residual funds, refer, as usual, to the MISE Ecobonus site.

Nothing has changed since 2021. The contribution is aimed at those who purchase a brand new electric or hybrid vehicle of categories L1e, L2e, L3e, L4e, L5e, L6e, and L7e. So, we are talking not only about motorcycles, scooters, and mopeds but also about electric tricycles and quadricycles.

With scrapping (category L – Euro 0, 1, 2, or 3) can be received an incentive of 40% of the vehicle price purchased up to a maximum of 4,000 euros. In the absence of an old vehicle to be scrapped, the contribution will be 30% of the cost of the new vehicle up to a maximum of 3,000 euros.

This incentive can be added to any regional contribution. There should be no funding problems as they were not completely sold out in 2021. The incentive is applied immediately by reducing the purchase price. It will then be up to the dealership to request contributions for the purchase of electric vehicles through the platform prepared by the MISE.
