Ford Ranger Raptor, the new pick-up of the Blue Oval

In recent years the pick-up market in Europe has seen good growth, and without a doubt one of the most interesting pick-up models among those that can be purchased in Italy is the Ford Rangerwhich today is unveiled in a new version ‘Raptor‘ equipped with V6 Ecoboost engine.

The new Ford Ranger Raptor was developed by Ford Performanceand is powered by the 3.0-liter V6 engine capable of delivering 288 horsepower and 491 Nm of torque, to offer maximum performance both on asphalt and off-road; in driving mode ‘Baja’ also activates the anti-lag system which keeps the two turbochargers on for a maximum of 3 seconds even if it is not accelerating you, so as to have a more snappy recovery as soon as you press it again. The whole is combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission which does a great job in optimizing consumption and performance.

The suspension sector is entrusted to FOX Live Valve shocks 2.5-inch with internal bypass, and is enhanced by control technology capable of damping response according to the position of the vehicle, ensuring greater comfort on the road without sacrificing off-road performance. The new Ranger Raptor finds the perfect balance between comfort, control, stability and traction, both on asphalt and on the most difficult off-road terrain.

A little while ago I mentioned one of the driving modes available on the Ford Ranger Raptor, called Baja, but it is only one of the 4 available modes dedicated to road use: Quiet, Normal and Sport. Each of these driving modes modifies some aspects of the vehicle’s behavior, but above all it will modify the noise emitted by the exhaustso as to be more polite in city contexts where traffic noise is already a lot, but still offering the opportunity to enjoy the roar of the engine when the situation allows.
