Lenovo ThinkPad X13s, 28 hours of battery life thanks to Snapdragon 8cx Gen3

During the Mobile World Congress in progress these days in Barcelona, Lenovo has unveiled the new one ThinkPad X13sthe company’s new notebook with ARM processor and equipped with the new Qualcomm Snapdraegon 8cx Gen3, capable of operating with a TDP of only 9W and to offer both 5G and 4G connectivity.

One of the flagship features of the new Lenovo ThinkPad X13s is theautonomy which, thanks to the extremely low consumption of the ARM CPU, manages to reach (according to the company’s statements) the 28 hours. At the level of technical specifications we find, next to the Snapdragon 8cx Gen3, one 13.3 “screen with 1920 × 1200 pixel resolution (16:10 aspect ratio), available both with and without touchscreen, up to 32GB of RAM LPDDR4x, up to 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD, WiFi 6 connectivity, WiFi 6E, 5G Sub6 and 5G mmWavetwo 10Gbps USB Type-C 3.2 Gen2 ports, a 3.5mm combo jack, the SIM slot and a 5MP cameraavailable on some models also with IR sensor for Windows Hello support.

The whole is packed into one magnesium chassis made for 90% recycled materials, a choice that gives a slightly different color to that of other ThinkPads, more like gray than black. The dimensions amounted to 29.87 x 20.65 x 1.34 cm for only 1.07 kg of total weight.

As for the input systems, we also find on the Lenovo ThinkPad X13s everything that we have always appreciated in the ThinkPad series: a large trackpad with the typical upper keys, the TrackPoint and a full keyboard (except for the numeric keypad) which probably will offer the same great experience that you have on all products in the range.

As we told you about the Samsung Galaxy Book Go, one of the weaknesses of Windows on ARM is still the emulation of x86 software. Windows 11 allows you to run x86 64-bit programs even on ARM processors, but we don’t know what the real performance is; Lenovo, Microsoft, and Qualcomm have worked alongside developers to ensure their apps also work on ARM devices. Some of these applications, such as Microsoft 365, Zoom and Sophos, will have native support and some of them will be pre-installed on the ThinkPad X13s.
