Nothing to do for the series of Cowboy Bebop: Netflix has decided to put an end to the project after just one season and – a detail that makes us understand the dissatisfaction with the results achieved – after less than a month from the debut on the streaming platform which took place last November 19th. Expectations were high, but bringing the live-action remake of the anime turned out not to be an easy feat. At the moment the evaluations of the series travel on levels of substantial mediocrity on Rotten Tomatoes: 46% vote of the critics, 55% that of the public.

There have actually been many criticisms of the series, there are those who have considered it unable to capture the attention of those who do not know the original anime with quality production, nor the long-time fans of Cowboy Bebop. The motivation, however, does not change the result: no second season. Javier Grillo-Marxuach, screenwriter of the series commented on the news of the cancellation underlining:

I really loved working on it. He came from a pure and authentic place of respect and affection. I wish we could accomplish what we had planned for a second season, but you know what they say, man proposes and God disposes. See you space cowboy.
