The expectation is growing for the official presentation of Realme GT2 and Realme GT2 Pro, scheduled for January 4, 2022, and in the meantime, new information has emerged on the photographic sector of the Pro model which could be indicative of a very interesting qualitative leap.
If the datasheet of Realme GT2 Pro had already been confirmed by TENAA in recent weeks, this time we owe it directly to Realme – which like other manufacturers of its compatriots uses Weibo to anticipate details of new products before launching them – the confirmations of some details relating to the main cameras of the smartphone.
We already knew that Realme GT2 Pro will be able to count on a triple rear camera with 50 MP + 50 MP + 2 MP set-up, but the image shown below also reveals the identity of the main sensor: it is a Sony IMX766 and, as reported by the manufacturer, is assisted by OIS (have you read our in-depth study dedicated to image stabilization?). While it is not a revolutionary novelty, it is a welcome first time for a smartphone from Realme.
From what we learn, even the secondary 50-megapixel camera will be a record: Realme GT2 Pro will boast an ultra-wide-angle camera with FoV (Field-of-View) of 150 degrees. The manufacturer had previously confirmed the implementation of a Fisheye mode, so we already know that this camera will lend itself to creative uses.
Finally, the 2 MP camera will not be a useless addition as often happens, but it will resume a peculiar feature of the excellent OPPO Find X3 Pro (here is our review): it will be microscopic. According to the known leaker Digital Chat Station, that of Realme GT2 Pro will be a 2.0 version of the technology, with a depth of field improved by four times and distance to objects by about twice. Additionally, the manufacturer should include the ability to recognize certain framed content, such as skin and water.
