Would you like Car Thing, Spotify’s device for cars that just went on sale? Well, you can’t

Spotify he presented Car Thinghis first physical device for listening in the car, last April, but only a select few could get one. In October, the company expanded its invitation list for all US users, but the wait was really long. Today Spotify announced that Car Thing is available for purchase directly from his site to anyone living in the United States, for the price of $ 89.99 and prior subscription to the Premium subscription.

Car Thing it’s essentially a box that connects to your phone (Android or iOS, but also Android Auto or CarPlay via USB) through Bluetooth or audio jack and acts as a screen controller touch for the Spotify app.

The interface presents many easy to navigate menu, favorites and a host of convenient controls, including programmable buttons, a rotary dial and the company’s voice assistant. Basically it’s like a receiver for satellite radios of past years, but designed for the streaming era. In this way, Spotify diehards have more space on your phone for browsing with Waze or Google Maps even when switching to another podcast. What do you think?
