Samsung updates Expert Raw for the S21 Ultra and adds a welcome change

Every year Samsung, together with the new top of the range, always alongside an Ultra version (at least from the S20). These are versions that have some of the best hardware on the market in the field of cameras. But, for some years now, to have a good photographic sector, the software also counts a lot. For this, towards the end of last year, Samsung released the app Expert Raw.

This application offers owners of Galaxy S21 Ultra, the only device supported, for now, better control over the photos they take, perfecting the camera’s “Pro” mode. Other features are not limited to just RAW images, such as the multi-frame HDR and the ability to combine information from multiple lenses for better low-light performance. Now the South Korean giant has released an update related to Expert Raw, to fix some bugs and bring welcome news.

Expert Raw adds support for High-Efficiency Raw

The new update leaked thanks to the Ice Universe leak that was shared on Twitter, should fix several bugs, including problems with the telephoto lens.

Also, SamMobile, speculates that some problems such as errors may have been fixed in shutter speed information when trying to capture long exposure photos, poor image quality when shooting bright or saturated objects, and a voice command bug in the Expert RAW settings menu.

The update also adds support for high-Efficiency Raw. It is a type of RAW format with high efficiency, but with a small size. Very useful if we consider that Galaxy S21 Ultra does not have expandable memory.

Samsung plans to bring these features into the main camera app, while waiting for that to happen, you can download the update from APKMirror since, at the time of writing this article, the one integrated into the tweet is not working.
